Choosing the Best Aluminum Floor Jack
Aluminum floor jacks are becoming the garage jack of choice for many buyers, professional and do it yourself mechanics alike.
The main reason for their recent spike in popularity is that being compromised largely from aluminum, the best aluminum floor jacks are lightweight and easy to carry around or store.
Traditional steel jacks are much heavier. If we compare the Hein-Werner HW93652 (123 pounds) and how the Arcan alj3t Aluminum Floor Jack (56 pounds) we can see a whopping difference of 67 pounds!. For more comparisons between steel and aluminum hydraulic floor jacks check out our Steel Jack Vs Aluminum Jack review.
Whilst the professional, garage or workshop owner will still lean toward the heavy duty Steel constructed jacks for their robustness and durability. The lighter aluminum jacks are fine for the home, but they are ideally suited for racing as they are lightweight and often low profile. This means they are perfect for those fast pit stops when racing.
Don’t be fooled by their sleek looks and light weight construction, aluminum is a tough material and all the Jacks we recommend will take a beating and keep coming back for more. Professional mechanics may still prefer the steel trolley jack, but their aluminum counterparts are just as strong, easier to store, move around and they wont rust!.

Top 3 Ton Aluminum Floor Jack

1. Arcan alj3t Aluminum Floor
The Arcan alj3t aluminum floor jack is quite simply the best aluminum floor jack currently on the market.
We simply love the the Arcan alj3t, its our favorite aluminum jack by far and we use it for all of our low profile needs as well as a lot of our regular work on vehicles.
We have the older blue / purple finish on our Jack, but by all reports the color is the only thing that has changed (it now comes in a metallic silver finish), the jack itself has lost none of its awesomeness.
This jack is lightweight, but will take a pounding and still retain its good looks! It’s certainly taken the punishment we have dealt it over the years.
We gave this Jack a perfect score of 5/5. Rather than ramble on too much about this Jack, we invite you to take a look at our review here.

Top 2 Ton Aluminum Floor Jack
JEGS Performance Products 80006 Professional Low-Profile Aluminum Floor Jack
We recommend a 3 ton jack, mainly due to their extra weight bearing ability. The only reason we can think to prefer the 2 Ton aluminum jack over the 3 Ton is they are even lighter, making them easier to carry, store and move around.
If you are going to choose a 2 ton (40000 pounds) aluminum jack then we recommend the JEGS 80006 which weighs in at a low 49 pounds.
Like a lot of aluminum jacks, the JEGS has been designed with low clearance racing vehicles in mind and has a minimum saddle height of 3-1/2 inches and a maximum lift height of 19.25 inches.
5 pumps to reach full height, means you don’t need to expend a lot of effort when lifting your vehicle.
Padded saddle and handle protects the body of your vehicle from damage.
Uses U-joint handle release valve to lower the jack, you don’t need to remove the handle and reposition it on the release valve, with this model simply twist the handle to the left to lower the vehicle.
Side grips provide for easy transport and the two part handle is great for storage, but don’t think you loose any strength, when put together the handle is robust.
The 80006 features a beautiful finish with its cool color scheme, after 10 years of use, rubbing an oily rag over the jack has it looking close to new!
